Dicky Chalmers is an award-winning British writer-director who works at the frontier of generative AI — not as a technician, but as a filmmaker.
Educated at Oxford, he has spent twenty years directing for major global brands including Toyota, Honda, Cadillac, and Canon across the UK, Japan, and China, building the on-set authority and instincts that no amount of technical expertise can substitute.
His narrative work spans festival-selected sci-fi and thriller shorts SELFIE and the award-winning ANGEL, through to a commissioned Tsuburaya Productions film for Japan's iconic ULTRASEVEN franchise, which amassed over one million views.
His latest screenplay, COLD, was selected for the Golden Horse Film Project Promotion and Udine Far East Film Festival.
He is currently writing and developing OTAKU, a stage play commissioned by Japan's prestigious Umeda Arts Theater.
Fluent in English, Japanese, and Mandarin, Dicky is one of a very small number of directors with genuine creative fluency across British, Japanese, and East Asian industries. He is currently based in Taipei.
